About Me:
My principal duties with the Biological Surveys Group include coordination of the botanical survey program. We survey Illinois Department of Transportation project areas for the occurrence of high-quality natural communities and occurrences of threatened and endangered species. I am also involved in teaching and research. I teach Native Plant ID and Floristics here at UIUC and serve on graduate committees, help direct student research projects, and am an occasional guest lecturer. I give numerous presentations annually to public and professional groups with a focus on vegetation ecology.
