Illinois Natural History Survey - University of Illinois

Opportunities in Our Research Group

We periodically hire stream research technicians to aid ongoing studies.  Although each experience varies, technicians learn electrofishing techniques, benthic macroinvertebrate collection methods, habitat evaluation, water quality measurement methods and organism identification.  We seek people that not only can aid our research objectives, but also desire to develop skills that will be useful in their future endeavors.  Applicants should have an interest in aquatic science (and preferably be working towards a degree in this field), the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, the ability to work as a team member and independently, and a flexable schedule.

Check the INHS Opportunities webpage for postings and specific application procedures.
