My research interests are broad, but predominantly revolve around aspects of landscape ecology, landscape genetics, land use, climate change, and conservation biology. Ultimately, my research seeks to understand the fine-scale processes underlying landscape-level patterns to improve the management and conservation of species, communities, and landscapes. As such, my research relies on field surveys, manipulative experimentation, GIS-based landscape and spatial analyses, individual-based and population modeling, and population/landscape genetics. Although my research is question driven, I have a particular fondness for all things herpetology, especially plethodontid salamanders.
