I am a research biologist with 2 decades of field experience and background in both freshwater ecology and coastal oceanography. As a specialist in river science, my research and collaborations have spanned the continent from the sub-tropical river and estuary systems (southwest Florida and the Gulf of Mexico) to the arctic Mackenzie River Delta and Beaufort Sea (Northwest Territories, Canada). My past research is often interdisciplinary encompassing food web studies, watershed modeling, fish habitat assessment and delta-coastal oceanography. On-going projects include several aspects of large river ecology, modeling the impacts of climate change, and the impacts of landuse and watershed development, assessing dam removals in Maine and Connecticut, and 2D water quality mapping in tidal creeks/coastal rivers of the Gulf Coast. These have been largely grant funded projects have been sponsored by a variety of Federal agencies including the NSF, EPA, NOAA, USACE, both the Canadian Federal (NSERC) and Quebec Provincial Governments, Connecticut TNC, Maine DEP, and the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
