Midwest Institute for Biological Control
"Habitat Manipulation & Biological Control in Annual Crops"
June 23-25, 1998
Kellogg Biological Station
Battle Creek, MI

This workshop will be based around presentations and in-depth discussions of two areas of biological control:

(1) Habitat manipulation and management for biological control.
(2) Biological control in annual crop habitats.

For each topic an introductory overview presentation will be made, followed by two or three presentations by scientists working in this area. Following the presentations, extensive discussion in workshop format will take place. The focus of the discussions will be on (1) what is the underlying ecological theory that can be used to understand this aspect of biological control (2) applications of this theory to biological control (3) what research needs to be done and (4) how can what we know be applied in biological control.
